A Clothing Confidence Boost

It is not very often that I go out shopping for clothes. Shopping for clothes has never been something I have enjoyed as I am short and always find it hard to find things that I like that fit nicely, so I have grown into the habit of wearing jeans and a t shirt, sometimes I swap the jeans for leggings and a jean skirt.

While out with my friend yesterday we were talking about how we would like to look a bit better (lose a few pounds, know more about using make – up), and generally feel better about ourselves. We both suffer with depression and feel being more confident in ourselves would help us.

So, with her supporting me, I bought myself a few new bits.

I started off with a t shirt, I know this is the same as always, but it was a Star Wars one and it was reduced to £3! A pair of shortie pyjamas followed. By this point my friend was getting a little frustrated with me.

We walked around the summer clothes and she pointed out a number of dresses that she thought would look nice on me and I turned my nose up at them. Then I spotted a black summer dress with white print on it. I actually liked it! And even better it was only £5. In the basket it went.

Next I saw an all in one shorts and top that was blue with white print. I liked it, but was very concious about how it would look on me. My friend said why not get it just to wear at home and in the garden and when I feel more confident, then wear it out.

Gym clothes were also on my list. I need some more bottoms to wear when I work out. I found some I really liked and bought them in a size smaller then I am to give me something to work towards. I am going to look great on the treadmill on them when I lose some of my jiggly bits.

I am quite pleased with my new purchases and am looking forward to wearing them over the weekend as the weather is supposed to be very nice. Buying them has definitely given me a little bit of a boost, I am so glad I did it.

Take care everyone.
