A Day with my Booey

With everything that has been going on the last few months, I haven’t had as much time as I would have liked to spend with the kids, especially Booey. I know she has felt a little like I have no time for her, I have tried to explain to her how hard it has been losing my dad and having to deal with all the grown up things in the aftermath of it. While she does understand, she is only 10, so I freed my day up yesterday to take her into town.

Before we left home, we both dressed nicely and put on a little make up (very natural, barely there make up for Booey, but it made her feel grown up.) and put on some jewellery and off we went.

We knew we would be having more of a mooch around rather than spending loads, we do love a bit of window shopping. Hitting all the usual shops, Primark, WHSmiths, Wilko and a couple of smaller local shops.

Booey found some interesting sunglasses along the way…..

Not really very practical, but the hat she found was, if you like pink and sparkly that is…
But our most disturbing find of the day was some little animal ornament type things. They are supposed to look cute, but they creeped us both out.
And finally we stopped in our favourite coffee house and had a bacon sandwich and a much needed cold drink.
It was so good to finally spend some quality time together. We had lots of laughs and in our heads we brought up what seemed like the whole high street! I will definitely be making a concentrated effort to spend more time like this.
Take care everyone.

  1. I'm sure it was great for both of you to spend the day together and just be, if you know what I mean. Some times thats what is needed after a hardship in I like the owls…#kcacols

  2. They really were creepy, sort of thing that attacks people in a horror movie lol.
We have already made plans to go to library at the weekend.

  3. Sounds like such a nice day, and I bet she was thrilled to have you all to herself! I feel like this sometimes, with 2 kids it's hard at times to get quality one-on-one time with each of them. x #KCACOLS

  4. Aww it sounds like a lovely day!! I love when I have a one to one day out with my eldest. She really loves having me just for herself all day. It is really nice!! Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. Sorry for commenting too late. I had a hectic week. xx
