A Make-up Confidence Boost

After my recent confidence boost due to some new clothes, I decided to take it one step further and buy some new make-up too. I’ve not been wearing too much make-up the last few months, but I want to start wearing it again now I am feeling better about myself.

I usually wear natural colours, a lot of different shades of brown and bronze and gold. I thought it was time for a little change, I bought a natural palette and a day to night palette.

Admittedly I know only a little about make-up application, I never really did make-up in my teens, so I just kinda did what I thought looked ok. Now I have my 10yr old daughter who (thanks to YouTube) tells me what I should and should not be doing with my look.

The smokey eye look and using more than one shade of colour on my eyes so that I can have different looks to suit what I am doing each day.

My first stop was the Barry M counter. As I wanted to get some new eye colours I picked up the Barry M Natural glow palette shadow and blush. It has all the colours I like plus a lovely blush that I was reliably informed by my daughter that I need. It is a lovely palette and not expensive.

Also from the Barry M range I picked up the coconut infusion nail paint in bikini and nail paint in VIP. I have loads of nail colours at home, but just couldn’t resist these two. I love the green of bikini, this is one of the few colours that I don’t have.

Makeup Revolution was my next step. Their day to night palette jumped out at me straight away. It has the colours I love and some new ones for me to try, they look amazing.

I wanted to get an eyeliner to go with the blue colours of the palette, and I found an amazing one from Collection, it is from their Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in Le Freak. It is sparkly and will look great with the aqua blue. I am so excited to try it.

My last purchase was a little unexpected. I was looking for a lip gloss and had picked one up, but while I was waiting for my friend I spotted L’oreal Colour Riche Matte lipstick in Erotique. It is the first time I have treated myself to a nice lipstick like this.

Everything that I bought is really nice, I can’t wait to try it all, (not all at one lol). Having these little boosts has really helped me with getting through everything at the moment. May not seem much to people, but every little boost is gratefully welcomed right now.

Take care everyone.

  1. Love Love Love these especially the eyeshadow pallet! It's so lovely to treat yourself sometimes – us mummies deserve it! Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday

  2. I definitely enjoy using makeup and new clothes to help boost my confidence. Especially lately now that I am back in the working world full time and its summer. I've found that the more colors I incorporate into my wardrobe the better I feel.

Enjoy the lovely new makeup! #KCACOLS

  3. I have the Barry M eyeshadow palette and I love it! The colours are so easy to wear, you can build up the coverage to take it from day to night and the blush is a really natural colour (although it doesn't look it in the palette!) I don't wear a lot of makeup either during the daytime but I think you feel a lot better if you do make the effort. Thanks for sharing with us on #fortheloveofBLOG

  4. I think we need some photos of you wearing it! 🙂 I am obsessed with makeup – I might need to buy a bigger house soon just to fit it all in! Def makes me feel better buying it #KCACOLS
