It seems like such a long time since I did February’s empties post, and I missed out March alltogether! Life has been getting in the way of a few things lately, but I have sorted my life out a bit and am feeling more focused again.
The great British weather hasn’t helped me much lately. Not knowing which season I am going to wake up to is playing havoc with my skin. It has gone really dry and patchy, so I am having to use more moisturiser than normal which can make my skin feel “heavy”. With all the cleaning I am doing (thank you Mrs Hinch!) my hands are really dry too. I wear washing up gloves, but I find them awkward to clean in, so I end up getting cleaning products on them and washing them loads. But the house looks good so, swings and roundabouts lol.
Now that you have listened to my skin care woes, on to my empties for April.
I bought this pink fizz and bubbles body wash as part of a set from Wilko in the boxing day sales. Also in the set was a bath bomb, bath crystals, body lotion and a candle. It all came in a really nice carry case and I got it for the bargain price of £3! The body was smells really nice and you don’t need to use very much of it if you are using a shower scrub sponge like I do. It didn’t dry my skin out and left it feeling soft. The scent was strong whilst using it but I couldn’t really smell it once I was dry and dressed. I am looking forward to using the rest of this set.
I am still using the Lacura body spray from Aldi. It is still only 49p which I think is an absolute bargain. It smells really nice and lasts really well. I think I will be using this for a while. My only complaint is that there are only 2 scents, it would be nice to have a few more to choose from.
I really like the Dove body washes and moisturisers. The silk glow nourishing body wash is no excetption to that. It is a lovely body wash that left my skin feeling very soft and not dry at all. There is an almost luxurious quality to it. I got this for Chistmas, and I have another one in my stash, still going to be a while before I have to buy body wash lol!
I have used the Barry M light reflecting concealer before. It’s really nice. It covers and blends well and doesn’t look cakey on my skin. I think Barry M may have stopped making this concealer now, I can only see the newer ones from Barry M, so I am not sure what concealer I am going to use next.
I have used the Boots essentials eye make up remover gel and facial toner for quite a while now. They are both made with cucumber extract which is soothing to the skin and suitable for all skin types. The eye make up remover gel works really well, it removes all eye make up, although it does struggle a little bit with glitter, that stuff gets everywhere! Currently, I am using a toner and eye make up remover that I got for Christmas, but once that is finished I will go back to using these.
I will be honest, I still don’t know what primer really does. And I am not sure if I am going to buy any more once I have used what I have in my stash. The Collection primed & ready anti-fatigue illuminating primer was ok. It felt light going onto the skin and didn’t feel heavy. But, I am not sure it really did that much. I couldn’t see any difference in the way my face looked with it on. My make up did last a little longer with it on though. This may be a really good primer, but as I don’t really know much about make up primers it is hard for me to really say either way.
I’ve been looking for a cream cleanser for a while. I use make wipes sometimes, but I feel like they dry my skin out a bit. I was using a Boots cream cleanser before this, but I couldn’t find the exact same one when I went to buy more. The Nivea sensitive cleansing milk was so nice. It cleansed my skin really well, removing all make up too. My skin felt really soft and not dry at all. I’m in love with this cleanser! I was going to buy this again, but while shopping I saw something else. It is Nivea 2 in 1 cleanser and toner. So far I am loving it, I will write about it properly when I finish it.
So, that is my empties for April. Overall I am happy with the products I used during April. I have been quite lucky in finding things that I really like. As I have said before, I still have loads of stuff to use. I’ve had a sort out of everything and was really surprised at the amount of products that I have that I haven’t even opened yet! I may be a secret hoarder lol!
I hope you find my empties post useful and find something that you like. What have you been using lately? I would love to know.

Ahh! I have tried that Lacura body spray from Aldi & I really like it. They do need to make more scents though. x

I like the scents they do, it would just be nice to have a couple more to choose from x

Using up all your products and sharing your thoughts is a great idea. Reading this has reminded me that my daughter has used my makeup remover again. I love the Boots cucumber range, it is gentle but effective.

I have to hide so much from my daughter! I just thought it would be good to share the “normal” beauty products people use instead of the ridiculously expensive ones that are usually written about lol.

What a great idea to share your empties. Laughing at Louisa’s comment. It’s the other way round in this house. I borrow my daughters’ collection. I hide my best moisturisers in my room. They don’t need the anti ageing anyway! #MMBC

Dove and Nivea are two of my favourite brands.
I haven’t tried that primer before. I have been using bareMinerals primer and it’s really good. A little bit pricey but lasts ages. x #MMBC

I love seeing what you have been using. I’ve not used any of these but I have to admit, I love the way my makeup sits when I use a primer. I am using one I got in a set from Superdrug for £4 after Christmas. I tend not to use different products on my skin as it is really sensitive. #kcacols

Make up does seem to last longer with primer. I am lucky and can use most products on my skin.
