There’s nothing quite like getting lost in a new TV series – and there are so many great TV shows to check out in May!
In the past couple of months, Netflix has released some fantastic new shows, including dramatic thrillers, adorable love stories and fascinating documentaries. There are so many shows to choose from this Spring – and there’s something for every taste.
In this blog post, I’ve put together 5 great TV shows to watch in May. I hope you find your next recommendation this Spring.
1. ‘The Diplomat’
This show first premiered on Netflix on April 20 2023 – and it was soon renewed for a second series.
It is a dramatic political thriller that follows the new US ambassador to the UK. During the show, she has to deal with international crises and create lasting alliances between the two countries.
The show also looks at her marriage to fellow diplomat Hal Wyler. Viewers will see how she balances politics, relationships and more. If you love political dramas, this is the show for you this Spring.
2. ‘Firefly Lane’ – Season 2
Although the first part of Season 2 came out in December 2022, the second part came out this April – and fans of the show have been eagerly waiting to find out what happened to their favourite characters.
‘Firefly Lane’ follows a friendship between two women in Seattle. Friends since their teen years, the show looks at how their friendship changes throughout the years, as the women are now in their 40s.
This May, make sure to check out Season 2 of this fantastic show. It promises plenty of ups and downs as the women go through life – and it’s a wholesome look at one incredible friendship.
3. ‘Queen Charlotte’
‘Queen Charlotte’ is a fantastic new addition to the Bridgerton world!
This show looks at the fascinating backstory of Bridgerton’s intimidating monarch, Queen Charlotte. The show goes back in time, following her experiences as a young princess – including her romance with the future King George IV.
This is a must-watch for any fans of Bridgerton, with the same incredible costumes and romantic scenes as the popular show.
4. ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k’
Based on the popular self-help book from 2016, ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k‘ is now a documentary available on Netflix. The author of the book, Mark Manson, narrates the film – and he looks at how to find happiness in your life.
If you’re a fan of the book, this documentary is well worth checking out – and it’s a great way to understand key aspects of the book in a new way.
5. ‘Selling Sunset’ Season 6
On May 19, the sixth season of ‘Selling Sunset’ comes onto Netflix!
This popular reality TV show is the perfect watch if you’re looking for a bit of escapism this Spring.
It’s full of dramatic twists and funny moments, as viewers follow keen real estate agents and their bid to sell properties to the stars.

I haven’t watched any of these before. They sound interesting though. There are a few things I need to finish watching on Netflix, so maybe I’ll check these out too. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve been watching Firefly Lane but couldn’t get into season 2, but I’ve recently heard the end of the season is really good, so I’ll try again. I’ve also been watching the final season of Workin Mom’s and it’s really good.

I love watching Firefly Lane and am two episodes from the end. Cannot bring myself to watch as they are getting more and more emotional.

It is hard to watch things when they get emotional, it is such a great series though.
