September is here- and I can’t believe we’re already into the ninth month of the year!
For me, September always feels like a fresh, new month. The kids are back at school and September is the time to implement new habits for the rest of the year.
In this post, I want to discuss 5 ways to make the most of September. This is a fantastic time to start doing something different or to find a healthy new routine that works for you!
1. Invest in yourself
Make the most of this September by investing in yourself! This means setting yourself goals for the rest of the year or understanding how to manage your time.
Investing in yourself could be something as little as buying a diary to mark out your time, or as big as applying for a job that you really want to do.
It doesn’t mean you have to spend lots of money on yourself or plan out your entire future. It just means you can start taking steps to get to where you want to be, such as coming up with any goals that might help you do that.
2. Make some new meals
One of the best ways to make the most of September is to cook a few delicious meals that will make you feel good. September is the time for comfort food and warming dishes, so take a bit of time this month to create tasty meals that get you excited and ready for Autumn.
You could also create a meal plan for your month. Meal planning can save lots of money, as you buy the exact amount of ingredients that you need for each meal. It can also help with any fitness or weight loss goals, encouraging you to start off the new month with a few healthy habits under your belt.
3. Pick up a new hobby
Make the most of September by picking up a new hobby. If you’re a parent, you’ll know that the Summer holiday is the worst time to start something new.
However, September gives you the freedom to start a new hobby, such as playing a musical instrument, investing in your artwork or trying a new sport.
I love working on my blog in my free time, and I also love to knit when I get the chance. A new hobby can help you find something that you love to do.
I think in today’s society we’re told that every activity should be leading somewhere, and we must be productive 100% of the time. This is simply not true! September is the time to pick up that hobby you’ve been dying to try out.
4. Choose clothes that make you feel good
When it gets to Autumn and Winter, we might feel hindered by the many layers we need to wear to stay warm. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t wear clothes that make you feel great!
If you hate putting away your Summer clothes, find a few Autumn outfits that make you look and feel good.
You could try out a new skirt, team a woollen scarf with your favourite outfit or put together a new outfit using the clothes you already have in your wardrobe.
For example, you can add tights to your favourite skirt to turn a Summer outfit into an Autumn one!
5. Have some fun!
Make the most of the new month by having lots of fun!
I recently wrote a post about fun places to visit in September, including budget-friendly outings for the kids.
Just because the Summer holidays are over, it doesn’t mean you can’t do something you enjoy to make the most of this month. Many places are often quieter during September, meaning you can have a bit of fun without big crowds.
How are you going to make the most of September? How do you like to mark the new month? What habits will you try to implement this September?
Let me know in the comments!
Take care everyone

Yes, love this! I used to work in schools and that September feeling was the bestest, back then. I struggle to recreate it nowadays. Love the idea of picking a new goal! I’m with you on meal planning in more autumnal recipes too – cooking a roast dinner today and I can’t wait!

I love all the hearty meals of Autumn and Winter. Roast dinners are the best!

Hello Ali, I like your post! 🤗
Since, autumn is coming soon, I decided to buy new autumn clothes, and stuff for university. I have a lot of stuff in pastel colors, but not in black at all. And like you mentioned, I’ll also invest a lot in myself and try to find a job ✨️🥰
Keep up the good work! 🤗🤗
