I’m learning more and more

Writing is something I love, but being a modern day writer/blogger is hard work.

There is so much you need to know about building your audience and getting traffic to your blog or book page, as well as finding good topics to write about. I feel like I have a second full-time job!

I am still finding my feet with all of this, and I underestimated just how much I was going to have to learn.

Today I have been reading about keywords and SEO. I will be honest and say that I found a lot of this confusing. I am not the most technological person at the best of times, so I found a lot of this information hard to digest.

I think I have just about got to grips with keywords. I am far from being an expert, but I understand the basics and I have hopefully added a few of the right words in this post.

After all the reading I have done, I can see how using the right words can direct people to your blog and how the wrong ones will do you no favours. I am learning more and more.

Now SEO is a whole other story!

I have read blogs about this, as well as bloggers’ pages on the subject. I am still not sure if I really understand it. All I can say for definite right now is that it helps you reach out to a larger audience. I am going to have to find a page that explains this to complete dummies like me!

All of this reading has taken up quite a big part of my “free time” today. My head is swimming with terminology, yet I am wondering where my afternoon went. I knew writing wouldn’t be easy, but I had no idea just how much work it would be.

Don’t get me wrong, I am still loving the writing process. I love working on this blog and a few other writing pieces, but I get frustrated from time to time with all the other stuff that has to go along with it.

I just hope that all of these things I am learning are also helping to improve my writing.

Making my writing as good as it can be will always be my main focus. However, to do this I am going to have to keep learning all these other tricks of the trade.

I will continue on my writing journey! Who knows, this journey may help me to become better with technology and how to use it to my advantage, therefore making me a millionaire. Well we all have to have a dream don’t we?
