My Beach Essentials

I love the beach. As I wrote in my post why I love where I live, I am lucky enough to live near some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. We try to spend as much time as we can there, especially in the summer. I have even managed to sneak a few hours down there by myself while Booey has been at school. Nothing better than a couple of hours spent lying on a beach reading a book.
As I spend a lot of time at the beach I thought I would share some of the beauty products I use for the beach.
I’ll start with what I use before I even leave the house.
I use the No7 Protect & perfect intense advanced day cream everyday. Now this isn’t cheap, I used a gift card I got to buy this and will be saving my advantage points to buy more lol! The day cream is lovely, my skin looks and feels great for using it. It has a SPF 15 and a 5 star uva rating, so my skin is already a little protected from the sun. I also use the protect & perfect night cream.
I don’t wear a lot of make up to the beach, I figure most of it will end up melting off lol! A natural look is best for the beach I think, no crazy colours. The Barry M Natural Glow Palette has some lovely browns and greys in it, browns are my go to eyeshadow colour. The look is completed with the Soap & Glory crazy sexy kohl eyeliner in cocoa bean and thick and fast mascara. I love this mascara, it is amazing!
Once at the beach, I use the Boots Soltan sun care . I never use anything below factor 30 on myself and 50 for the kids. I’m always careful not to burn, I learned my lesson when I was younger. Now I try to look after my skin and my kids skin. I’m currently loving the protect and repel one. Protects me from the sun and insects. This is also good to my skin, it doesn’t dry it out and keeps it looking fresh. The kids use the Once version. Even though it says it lasts for the day I reapply it to the kids every 2 hours.
Lip balm is one of my favourite products I always have one in my bag, so, of course it is part of my beach essentials kit. The vaseline lip therapy range is great. The rosy lips one gives my lips a nice rosy glow as well as protecting them from the sun.
Once home from the beach, I carry on looking after my skin. The No7 Protect and perfect facial recovery after sun is great after a day of catching rays. It intensely hydrates for 24 hours helping your skin to recover from the sun.
Looking after my skin doesn’t end there. I use the No7 body milk to moisturise my whole body. This makes my skin feel amazingly soft. Soap and Glory are one of my favourite beauty brands at the moment, I have talked a lot about their products in my empties posts. Their hand food is amazing! My hands have never felt this good. And lastly there is the Avon beautiful feet cooling lotion. My feet feel very refreshed after applying this.
And don’t forget to drink plenty of water while out in the heat. It’s important to stay hydrated and it’s great for your skin. If it is extremely hot, take more water than you usually would to prevent dehydration.
So, there you have it, my beach essentials. I would love to know what you carry in your beach bag. Are there any products that you would add to this list?
Take care everyone.

Great products. I also look for the 5 star UV rating. Often the cheaper own brands are the best. I never realised Soltan was too. Oh I’m so intrigued where you live now. I wanna move there lol

We live by the sea too so can relate to this – Vaseline is a must at all times of the year, especially when it’s windy! #KCACOLS

When I was a kid we only ever used sun cream abroad, I hope that I have instilled how important it is in my girls (hopefully they’ll get less wrinkles!) and I always use a face moisturiser with factor 15 in so I know if I forget sun cream it won’t matter. #KCACOLS

I was the same when I was younger. I always make sure my kids are completely covered when we go out in the sun, not risking their health x
