Mondays always seem to be a bit of a drag- no matter what you do. Whether it’s a new week at work, working from home or getting the kids ready for school or nursery, there is a LOT to do and sometimes it can feel a bit too much!

For me, Mondays consist of trying to get as much as I can done at home before I start work at 1 pm. I need to be alert and well-rested to make the most of my morning.

Sunday routine for a great Monday

One of the best ways to make your Monday great is to have a productive and positive Sunday.

This Self-Care Sunday, we will discuss some things you can do to set yourself up for a great new week!

1. Complete a big house job

Even if you spend your Monday focusing on housework like me, it can help to complete 1 big job on Sunday. This will give you a bit of leeway on Monday, and it might even give you chance to take a few extra tea breaks to break up your day.

This might be your laundry for the week or finishing all your washing up. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a huge job, but getting something off your plate before Monday can help to make your Monday amazing!

2. Invest in self-care

This Self-Care Sunday, invest some time in self-care to make Monday great! We all need a bit of self-care at the weekend, and investing some much-needed time to take a bubble bath, go for a long walk or reset your mindset can really help to improve your Monday morning.

It’s the worst feeling when you’ve not given yourself any time off during the weekend, and then you have to start back at work on Monday – and it can lead to the Sunday Scaries. You can beat that feeling by trying to do something fun and relaxing on Sunday.

3. Do your shopping

You don’t want to start your Monday off with no food in the house. It’s a great idea to have lots of good, healthy and tasty food in the cupboards ready for your Monday morning.

This will start you off on the right foot, and save you from popping to the shop when you have lots to get done in your day.

4. Stay away from screens

It goes without saying that most jobs these days depend on technology in one way or another.

If your Monday is full of screens, try to spend some screen-free time on Sunday to make your Monday great. This will give your eyes and your head a break before work starts and it will help you start your Monday with a fresh mind.

5. Eat and drink well

You don’t want to start your Monday feeling hungover or dehydrated. Drink plenty of water all day on Sunday to keep yourself healthy and hydrated, and try your best to eat well too. This will ensure you wake up feeling fresh and healthy and Monday morning.

There’s nothing wrong with eating some treats over the weekend, but the sooner you can get into a regular and healthy routine, the happier your mental and physical health will be.

Ooh I love these! I love taking things like bubble baths (particularly in the cooler months) as a form of self care and I’m making a point to try and step away from screens a bit when I can. Thank you so much for sharing these suggestions x
