Things I Love About Winter

This week I have scraped the first ice from my windscreen. It looks like Autumn is coming to an end and Winter is coming. Winter is such a wonderful time of the year. Yes, it’s cold and the weather unpredictable, but it is a lovely time of year.
Now, I will admit I am not a fan of the cold, but that doesn’t mean that I cannot love Winter. There is so much to love about this time of year, so why not share what I love about it.
Cold Hands Around Hot drinks.
There are so many lovely hot drinks to be had at this time of year. Tea, coffee, spiced lattes, hot chocolate and mine and Booey’s favourite, white hot chocolate. Just the drinks on their own are one of the things to love about winter, but so is the feeling of cold around a hot drink. Whether you have been out shopping or for a walk, getting a hot drink to warm you up is lovely. I love the tingly feeling you get in your hands as they warm up around a drink.
Cosy Nights At Home.
I love cosy nights in with my family. Curling up on the sofa under a blanket with Booey and hubby while watching tv or movies is bliss. I love fleecy blankets, we have loads of them, probably enough for 3 each! Any excuse for me to curl up under one is taken. Booey loves her blankets too, and she is always trying to steal mine!
Snow.
I hate the cold, but I love snow! The UK seems to come to a standstill when it snows, our country is not equipt for it apparently. When you have kids snow is so much more fun. Snowball fights, snow angels and building snowmen, I love all of it. And everything looks so pretty, it’s amazing how much a bit of white stuff makes everything look better.
Warm jumpers, hats and scarves.
Some people hate all the layers you have to wear in winter, but I love them. I do love summer clothes, but they are nothing compared to wrapping yourself up in a cosy jumper. It’s also time for hats and scarves. I have a cute bobble hat that I got in Covent Garden a couple of years ago that I love and some lovely scarves (of course some with skulls on) to wrap myself up in. I embrace the layers!
Christmas.
You can’t mention winter without talking at least a little about Christmas. I love Christmas, I get to spend time with my family and relax. The gifts are great of course, but for me it is all about family. I hope that each Christmas we make some lovely memories together that we will all always remember.
So, that is what I love about winter. Is there anything you love about winter?
Take care everyone.

Every winter I hope for snow but we haven’t had any to speak of for 10 years in Cornwall. #KCACOLS

We don’t get a lot here in Dorset either, but when we do it’s lovely.

I love all these things about Winter too. I drink so many hot drinks during Winter just to stay warm. The only other thing I’d add is a hot water bottle – I can’t get enough of them! #FamilyFunLinky

I’d like one lovely snowstorm, on a weekend, worthy of fun and frolic with the kids. Melt by Monday, and we are good! #FortheloveofBLOG xoxo

I love winter too. I can’t decide if I prefer autumn or winter but it is a serious close call. I have the added bonus of having my birthday in the winter too.

Hubby and I both have our birthdays in February, which is still winter lol. Autumn is lovely, but winter pulls ahead for me.

I quite like hearing the birds waking up when I’m running in the morning – they sound different in winter! #familyfunlinky

Nothing better than cuddling up under a fleecy blanket with a mug of hot chocolate. I also love hat season because no one can see the state of my hair when I’m rushing out the house for the school run ?. I also love days when the air feels crisp, they always leave me feeling more energised for some reason.
Thank you for joining #FamilyFunLinky x

I love sitting under a fleecy blanket, so cosy. A hat is great for days when we don’t have time to sort the messy hair lol.

I love the idea of winter, blog posts and TV adverts, but the reality of wet, cold days does not live up to my expectations, so i’m glad i’m back to Dubai for winter there with lovely summer days

I love looking at snow out of the window when it has snowed overnight. I also love seeing birds footprints in the snow before anything else has touched it.
Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time

Ooooh yes all of these. My 3 year old was fascinated by the ice on the windscreen. First time he’s noticed it. He said “oh no, how are you going to see” and I had to explain how to clear it bless him. My body kinda hates winter but heat pads and snuggly clothes and blankets get me through.

I love this time of year too! Except I absolutely hate the cold and rainy days – like today! #KCACOLS

I don’t mind the cold so much, it’s the rain I don’t like.

I hope you got some snow in your part of the world this weekend! We didn’t get much, but it was still fun to wake up to a little covering of it! Hot white chocolate is also delicious! I did a post on things I love about winter too as part of my Blogmas – it’s here if you want to see: https://unseen-beauty.com/2017/12/11/blogmas11/
