Fun Things to Do With Kids This December

So, December is finally here- and with it, we can start to get into the festive spirit!

There are lots of fun things to do with kids this December. Whether you want to start celebrating Christmas or you’re just after some fun activities for little ones, I’ve put together a list of activities to enjoy this December.

I hope you get the chance to make some special memories this Christmas time!

1. Go to the pantomime

At this time of the year, the pantomime comes to town! This is a fantastic chance to have a bit of fun with your kids this December, including hilarious jokes and an entertaining performance.

You could go to the pantomime with friends and family, or make a night of it by going for a delicious festive meal afterwards.

Many pantomimes include afternoon or evening showings, meaning there are plenty of options for people with kids of all ages.

2. Ice-skating

Ice-skating is lots of fun for everyone this December. There are plenty of indoor rinks in many major cities or you could find an outdoor rink. Just make sure you wrap up warm!

During Christmas market celebrations, some cities bring portable ice rinks for local people to enjoy throughout the holiday season.

This is a great way to entertain kids for the day, and you can head home afterwards for hot chocolate and marshmallows.

3. Put up the Christmas tree

If you’ve not already put up your Christmas decorations, then this is the perfect activity for December. Little ones love to decorate the Christmas tree, and this is such a cute and fun activity for the whole family.

Hang baubles on the tree, decorate your home with tinsel and enjoy a few delicious festive treats. You could even stick a fun Christmas film on afterwards, such as Home Alone or Elf.

4. Bake some treats

I’ve previously written about a few recipes to bake at Christmas time, and I think baking is such a fun way to entertain kids in December.

Children can help out as much or as little as they want. Your kids could take over the kitchen, or just be your taste testers.

Baking is sure to keep everyone busy for a couple of hours this December, and you and your family can enjoy something tasty at the end of it, too!

5. Visit Santa!

If you’ve got a little one who loves to see what Santa has brought every year, why not plan a trip to visit Father Christmas? Many shopping centres and Christmas markets give you the chance to visit Santa’s Grotto at this time of the year.
