I was lucky enough to get to try the Vegan blusher and bronzer from Jolie Beauty. I love makeup, I have a lot of it (enough for a shop apparently!), but I generally stay with products and colours that I have used or ones that are very similar. Until the last couple of years or so, my looks were not very creative or colourful. But now I will try new colours and products and I watch a lot of how to type videos to learn new things.

One of the things that I had been reluctant to try was bronzer. As I have fair skin, I always thought that if I wore it I would look ridiculous. But looking at the Jolie Beauty site, I saw that they had different shades for different skin tones. Call me stupid, but I didn’t realize that you could get different shades of bronzer (and I call myself a makeup lover lol!). I chose the Second Skin Powder Bronzer in shade Latte.

The bronzer compact was gorgeous, a shiny rose gold with gold lettering on it. The shade of the bronzer was a lot lighter than I thought it would be, I liked that. As I had never used bronzer before, I first put on a light layer then built the colour up. It was important to me that I didn’t go too dark with it as I knew it would look too harsh on me. I really liked the colour it added to my skin and it complemented my blusher really well.

I am pretty stuck in my ways with my blusher too. I’ve two shades that I like and stick to. Again, I’m a bit afraid to try something new in case the colour doesn’t suit me. When I looked at the range of Second Skin Powder Blushers I found that there was a great range of shades to choose from. I chose Rendezvous and flushed as they were not too bright and I felt they would compliment my skin tone.

Like the bronzer, the blusher compacts were gorgeous and had a little mirror inside. The colours are lovely and I couldn’t wait to try them. I used Flushed first (the one on the right of the picture above.). Again, I built up the colour slowly with the blusher to get the tone that I wanted. Unfortunately, I used the wrong makeup brush when putting this on, so it looked like I went in a bit heavy-handed with it.

Next, I tried the rendezvous blusher. This time I used a better brush, which improved the look a lot. The colour built up nicely and there was pretty much no fallout from the powder (It was the same with the bronzer and the other blusher.). This shade was much more “me” and I loved it. It is a lovely soft pink that goes really well with my skin tone. I was really happy with this one. As you can see from the picture below, it is a lot lighter and much more flattering.

Overall, I was very happy with all the products. I love that all the Jolie Beauty products are made from vegan ingredients and are cruelty-free. They have a great range of shades with all their products and I thought they were reasonably priced.
