A Clothing Confidence Boost

It is not very often that I go out shopping for clothes. Shopping for clothes has never been something I have enjoyed. I am short and always find it hard to find things I like that fit nicely, so I have grown into the habit of wearing jeans and a t shirt. Sometimes I swap the jeans for leggings or a jean skirt.
While out with my friend yesterday, we were talking about how we would like to look a bit better. We want to lose a few pounds, and understand how to use make-up, for example. In general, we want to feel better about ourselves as we both suffer with depression, and we want to feel a bit more confident.
So, with her supporting me, I bought myself a few new bits!
I started off with a t-shirt. I know this is the same as always, but it was a Star Wars one and it was reduced to £3! A pair of shortie pyjamas followed. By this point my friend was getting a little frustrated with me.
We walked around the summer clothes, and she pointed out a number of dresses that she thought would look nice on me. I turned my nose up at them, but then I spotted a black summer dress with white print on it. I actually liked it! Even better, it was only £5 so in the basket it went.
Next, I saw an all-in-one shorts and top that was blue with white print. I liked it but I was very concious about how it would look on me. My friend said why not get it just to wear at home and in the garden, and when I feel more confident, I can wear it out outside.
Gym clothes were also on my list. I need some more bottoms to wear when I work out, and I found some that I really liked. I bought them in a size smaller than I am to give me something to work towards. I’m going to look great on the treadmill on them when I lose some of my jiggly bits.
I am quite pleased with my new purchases, and I am looking forward to wearing them over the weekend as the weather is supposed to be very nice. Buying them has definitely given me a little bit of a confidence boost, I am so glad I did it.
Take care everyone.

I think it's really important to treat yourself to nice things that make you feel more confident. Having a friend help you choose always helps too. #KCACOLS

I think making the effort to treat ourselves and dress nicely can do wonders for our moods. It's so important to take care of ourselves and yet as Mum's we always end up putting ourselves at the bottom of the priority list don't we? You've picked some lovely stuff here and just in time for this amazing weather! I hope you feel a million dollars lovely. Thanks for linking up on #fortheloveofBLOG x

Getting new clothes can definitely make you feel a bit better about yourself. I desperately need some new clothes, and shoes, but first I need more money! Wish we had cheap clothes shops here, but sadly we don't. #fortheloveofBLOG
