When a baby is born and the birth was not simple and safe, then you will have a traumatic time getting over this, but another question is whether the child has an easy upbringing or will suffer from this too. Do you think a child at a certain age can be still unaware of having a difficult birth, or do you think the child will know that something happened and the parent’s overprotective nature compared to the other parents gives away the underlying past? In this blog I’m bringing up questions that are related to this area, this isn’t to try to be hypothetical, because I believe in certain aspects.

Birth

It’s not a nice thought that birth did not go as smoothly as could be, this is an upsetting thought, and it’s not an easy subject to talk about, but it can happen whether it’s a blame game of who caused it which can lead to birth injury claims, or it maybe it couldn’t be stopped like a premature birth. Just remember to try to move along in life and not stay in a terrible moment in life. The baby might get after-effects of this struggling start so be ready to adapt to the kid’s growing up troubles.

Toddlers

Now I would have hoped for you that your child has no problem at this point of life after the bad beginning but for those who do, this is harder, just think that maybe the child still isn’t aware of the distress and trauma surrounding it. But at this point in life, consider that they may remember that something was never right when they are a little older, just in the way they are feeling.

School Age

Now they are reaching the age of consciousness of the world, do they realize yet that they have been through anything? Have you decided to tell them now or are you telling them later in life? Will they ask the question of why you give them the special treatment that no other children get, this could be caused by the Premature birth and they are discovering that the other kids are struggling less with this.

Teenage and older

You may get certain thoughts about how the child may have turned out with the birth being better, but dwelling is a bad idea and as long as you have been supportive all through the years then you can relax to believe that the child will be fine. Of course, you would have done medical check-ups on your child all of their life so if any problems have subsided, stay confident that it’s not an issue to need to keep in the forefront of your mind.

Conclusion

Talking to a person that lived through birth trauma can be hard, especially if it’s a close subject. Don’t be down about this, most of these cases still had great lives and as a parent, you worry so much, be aware that you don’t deal with it alone. Some people can help you every step of the way.
