It’s important to find healthy meals to try out in Summer – but it can be so hard to choose delicious recipes that everyone in your family will enjoy. Whether you’ve got fussy kids or you need quick meals, cooking for your family can be tricky business!
However, there are so many tasty and healthy meal ideas out there, including great options for families, couples and kids.
In this blog post, I’ve put together 5 healthy meals to try out this Summer. I hope you find a bit of recipe inspiration for your next dish.
1. Chicken Skewers and Dip
Chicken skewers are a great Summer recipe idea for kids – and you can make your skewers as healthy as you want.
Eat the skewers by themselves for a Summer snack idea or add them to a wrap for a tasty lunchtime treat. Make sure to add plenty of vegetables to your skewers, and don’t forget to serve them with a tasty dip for a burst of flavour.

2. Cucumber Soup
Cucumber soup is a great meal idea for you and your family this Summer. Make this delicious recipe for a refreshing lunch idea or serve it at any Summer events coming up this year.
You don’t need many ingredients to make a batch of this soup for your family, your partner or yourself. You can even make this meal in under 15 minutes if you’re busy!

3. Sesame Tofu
If you want to try out a meat-free dish this Summer, tofu is a great alternative. Tofu is a very flexible ingredient. You can season it with sesame seeds or soak it in a flavourful marinade to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal.
You can also serve tofu with lots of different ingredients, such as rice, beans, vegetables or noodles.

4. Burrito Bowl
A burrito bowl is a healthy alternative to a classic burrito! Instead of putting the ingredients in bread, you mix everything together in a bowl. This makes the recipe slightly healthier – and you can add anything and everything to your burrito bowl.
From beans and vegetables to chicken and salad, there are so many options. If your kids are fussy eaters, a burrito bowl is a great chance to give them control over what they put in their meal – and it can help them get creative in the kitchen, too.

5. Pasta Bolognese
This is a great recipe for the whole family. Pasta bolognese is a simple meal, but it’s such a crowd-pleaser!
You can make your pasta bolognese slightly healthier by using lean turkey mince instead of beef or adding plenty of vegetables to your recipe. You could even get your kids to help out with the meal, such as chopping vegetables or seasoning meat.

Oh wow, cucumber soup is a whole new acquaintance for me! These all sound lovely and fresh, and I think the cucumber shoup deserves testing because it sounds light enough for +30 celsius degrees, which is what we’re up against this week. Thank you for sharing these!
