My Summer Self-Care Essentials

Self-care is such an important part of any routine. Finding ways to prioritise your self-care can help you look after yourself on a daily basis – and it has fantastic mental health benefits, too. There are a few self-care essentials that always make me feel better – especially when I want to give myself a little pamper in the warm Summer months.

In this blog post, I’ve put together my Summer self-care essentials. I hope you find a bit of inspiration!

Candles

Candles are one of my top Summer self-care essentials – and they are perfect for any season, too. Simply light a fragrant candle and let your worries slip away. You could add a few candles to your next bubble bath or burn some incense when you’re feeling a bit stressed.

Some fragrances are better than others if you want to soothe your mood and relax. Try out a rose or jasmine candle to relieve stress during your self-care session. Lavender is also a great choice if you want to improve your sleep this Summer.

Face Mask

A face mask is a self-care tradition for a reason! Pop on a relaxing face mask while you take a bath, watch TV or read in the garden this Summer.

Me and my daughter love enjoying a pamper session with a face mask or two. Face masks can leave your skin feeling hydrated and plump. This is especially important during the warm Summer months when you need to look after your skin and give it a little extra TLC.

You could try out the Procoal Marine Moisture Sheet Mask this Summer. I reviewed this hydrating mask a while back. My skin felt so nice and smooth after I used the mask, so I really recommend checking it out!

Bubble Bath

I love using a fragrant, relaxing bubble bath whenever I need a bit of time to myself – and there are so many options to choose from! I love the Radox range of bubble baths, and each product adds a special touch to your Summer self-care.

Bubble bath is a great way to take your bath to the next level. You can soak your achy muscles after the gym or simply relax with a good book. Life can get busy and hectic – especially with the Summer holidays coming up – so it’s important to take a second to rest and treat yourself.

Body Butter

After you’ve enjoyed a relaxing bath or refreshing shower, make sure to rub on some calming body butter. Just the motion of rubbing cooling butter on yourself can make you feel more relaxed – and this is a Summer self-care essential if you’ve spent a day in the sun.

There are so many great body butter products to check out this Summer, and The Body Shop has an amazing range. Personally, I love their Mango Body Butter because it smells amazing and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth.

However, their Almond Milk Body Butter is also a great choice – and it provides 96-hour nourishing moisture. The Coconut Body Butter is a good option for vegans – and it’s perfect for very dry skin during the warmer months.
